KO Pilot

KO Pilot is a modern Arabic display typeface inspired by the lettering of Wael Morcos, which itself draws influence from the Optimum Compress typeface—a contemporary interpretation of the Textura Blackletter style. Ko Pilot builds on these foundations by incorporating the elegant structure of Arabic calligraphy, reimagined through a condensed, blackletter-inspired lens. The name “Ko Pilot” references the Pilot pen, whose distinctive nib shape helped define the strokes and overall texture of the typeface. The result is a bold and expressive design that fuses traditional Arabic calligraphic aesthetics with the sharp, compressed forms of modern blackletter.
