ACM Modular

ACM Modular is an experimental typeface conceived in 2008 while Greta Khoury was completing her MA at the London College of Communication. It investigated, in an experimental way, the construction of glyphs on the grid used for Islamic geometric patterns. These glyphs are made of a set of modules which can vary in position and color. The modular design made it applicable to various scripts therefore opening up the dialogue between cultures and raising questions about the formal approach to type design.
